FORENSIC MEDICINE

The Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology AIMC is one of the most significant and crucial department of AIMC. The collaboration of Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology with Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) constitutes an important pillar of edifice of Forensic Medicine in Punjab, cementing the department’s significance in the medico legal system of Pakistan.

The Department has state of the art and purposeful building. Ground floor houses mortuary along with storage plant for cadavers, offices for the demonstrators, mortuary staff and police officers. Near reception you can find visitors lobby and library. 1st floor is mostly for academic purpose for 3rd year MBBS and post graduate students. Here three halls for practical classes and a museum are situated. Around 300 to 350 autopsies and more than 1000 medico legal cases are conducted annually.

The Department comprises of competent and seasoned faculty, rendering exemplary multifaceted services.

The Department of Forensic provides prompt justice to the residents of the affiliated areas. All of our autopsies are conducted according to International standards, under the vigilant supervision of the Head of Department. Furthermore, the Department also imparts quality and research based education to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
