Dr.. Sajjad Hussain is the Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopedics Surgery Unit II right here at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. After graduating from King Edward Medical University, he did his post-graduation in Orthopedics Surgery, FCPS from CPSP. He had served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at King Edward Medical University and as an Associate Professor at Services Institute of Medical Sciences.
He was former Chief of Orthopedics Department at King Khalid University Hospital, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for three years. He then moved to United States of America where did his fellowship from University of Louisville, Kentucky in Hand&Upper Extremity, Arthroplasty& Arthroscopy Surgery. He left his entire career in abroad and returned to his beloved homeland to teach and train medical and post graduate students at international standards. He has dedicated his expertise for the entire community of Pakistan.
Orthopedics is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. We, as orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumours, and congenital disorders.The department of Orthopedic Unit II has 40 beds for indoor, 4 elective theatres, alternate day Emergency cover and deals with more than 300 patients on alternate day OPD. Under the dynamic supervision of Professor Dr. Sajjad Hussain, this department has become a state of the art facility where free of cost Arthroscopy, Arthroplasty, Spine Surgery and Trauma along with other soft tissue disorder management is provided to more than 5500 patients per month. We are hopeful to progress in the right direction and on the right path under an agile and competent leadership of Professor Dr. Sajjad Hussain.
- The Department of Orthopedics Unit II, Jinnah Hospital Lahore is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan for FCPS and University of Health Sciences for MS training. Currently, 15 residents are under training in our prestigious This department has made significant progress both clinically and academically.
- The department is also providing state of art facilities of modern Orthopaedic procedures such as Arthroscopy, Arthroplasty, Reconstructive hand Surgery, Spine surgery and Paediatric Surgery to the patients free of cost.
- The level of patient care is immaculate. The surveillance is up to the highest level. This clinical routine is amicably supported by a thorough academic program which includes case discussions, journal clubs, topic presentations and clinical methods coaching.
