Prof. Dr. Muneeza Natiq is an esteemed professional ,heading Department of Pathology in Allama Iqbal Medical College, with over 17 years of experience in Haematology, Transfusion Medicine and teaching at leading medical institutions in Lahore.
She holds key administrative positions illustrating leadership as principal of Allied Health Sciences and heading Medical Laboratory of Jinnah Hospital.
As Head of Department, she demonstrated exceptional resilience and forward-thinking leadership by successfully transforming the laboratory from a fully manual reporting system to a comprehensive online platform.
In addition to her teaching and administrative responsibilities, she is multiskilled professional leading Research Grand Board and Undergraduate Disciplinary committee as Chairperson.
Her professional experience encompasses the comprehensive planning, organization, and supervision of examinations, ensuring transparency and adherence to academic standards. She consistently maintains departmental discipline by fostering a structured, respectful, and academically focused environment. In addition, she actively facilitates and mentors undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, guiding learners through conceptualization and execution leading to effective functioning of all academic programs in department.

The Department is organized into five major sections:
- Histopathology – offering routine and specialized tissue diagnostics, including cytology and immunohistochemistry.
- Haematology – providing advanced hematological investigations, coagulation studies, and bone marrow examination services.
- Microbiology – delivering bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing with strict biosafety practices.
- Chemical Pathology – performing a broad spectrum of biochemical and hormonal assays using modern automated platforms.
- Molecular Biology – a well-established section equipped for PCR-based diagnostics and advanced molecular techniques, enhancing precision medicine and research capabilities.

Services & Academic Mandate
The Department of Pathology at Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), Lahore provides comprehensive academic, research, and diagnostic services in close collaboration with Jinnah Hospital. Academic & Training Services
- The department is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for postgraduate training leading to FCPS in Haematology and Histopathology, ensuring structured residency programs, supervised training, and competency-based assessment.
- Teaching support is also extended to students of BS (Hons.) Nursing and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs, fostering interdisciplinary understanding of laboratory medicine.
- The Department of Pathology offers a four-year BS (Hons.) Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program based on a structured semester system. The program is affiliated with the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The curriculum combines strong theoretical foundations with extensive hands-on training in Histopathology, Haematology, Microbiology, Chemical Pathology, and Molecular Biology. Students are trained in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, with exposure to modern diagnostic equipment, quality assurance protocols, and professional laboratory practices.
