The Department of Pathology at Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), Lahore, headed by Professor Dr. Muneeza Natiq, stands as a cornerstone of academic excellence, diagnostic precision, and impactful research. As an integral academic department of AIMC, Pathology plays a pivotal role in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. In addition to its academic mission, the department provides comprehensive and high-quality diagnostic services to the patients of Jinnah Hospital, one of the largest tertiary care teaching hospitals in the region. The Department is organized into five major sections:

• Histopathology – offering routine and specialized tissue diagnostics, including cytology and immunohistochemistry.
• Haematology – providing advanced hematological investigations, coagulation studies, and bone marrow examination services.
• Microbiology – delivering bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing with strict biosafety practices.
• Chemical Pathology – performing a broad spectrum of biochemical and hormonal assays using modern automated platforms.
• Molecular Biology – a well-established section equipped for PCR-based diagnostics and advanced molecular techniques, enhancing precision medicine and research capabilities.
